Keep It In A Frame is a small family business, run mainly by myself, Tina Allen. I work from home, picture framing and making spiral bound books for use as special occasion guest books and scrapbooks. I’m a forty something wife and mum to one son and have enjoyed handmade crafts for most of my life: from sewing, cross-stitch and card-making, to paper crafts and picture framing.
In 2005 I gained an NVQ level 3 in Business Startup by attending a course specifically aimed at women with a business idea that could be developed online. My aim was to start a picture framing business making memory box frames, hence the name “Keep It In A Frame” (My husband chose the name and it conveniently has my own name hidden in it). I started to make small scrapbooks using mountboard I had left over from my framing orders, mainly selling at local craft fairs, and these began to take off and take over. In 2008, I ventured online with these and haven’t looked back
I still make picture frames but my time is now mainly spent handcrafting guest books for special occasions and scrapbooks/memory albums. All of the products are designed and handmade by myself and are made with great care and attention to detail, using the best quality materials available to me.
A good proportion of my time is spent making bespoke items for customers who have very specific requests regarding design, colours and wording. If you would like to place an order but don’t see an item that suits you, please contact me with your requirements and we can work on a design together.
In 2017 I’m aiming to return to my roots and develop a range of personalised mounts and frames to display photo memories.
